Day 2......One small step for

Day 2 was hot.

After landing at Dulles I was off to meet Roger at the hotel in Crystal City in Virginia, across the river from DC but near the Metro.

After breakfast we went to the Mall in Washington DC to visit the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and capital hill.

The Metro underground train system is very good and easy to use. Also its cheap and fast way of travelling around.

The Metro was built in the 70's and they are still extending it.

The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum was very good. Lots to see could have spent all day there.

One of the oddest things we seen at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum was a party of Amish been given a tour.

Maybe they are looking at coming into the 20th century.

We were told that the Smithsonian Museums are the most visited Museums in the world. They are impressive and free.

We also visited the Native American Museum that was interesting and in a really neat building. The displays and exhibits really show off the different cultures. They also had a cafe that served native american food but we had already eaten lunch.

I had a problem with camera and lost some photo's I think it may have been the heat, not sure. I had taken some great shots of U S Grants Memorial. I recovered some photo's but lost a lot. dam.

I am so far very impressed with Washington, it is a city full of history and iconic sights. BUT its been so hot; well into the high 30's and very humid. Tomorrow its meant to be hotter into the 40's.
